Frequently asked questions
Using Gentle Hue may make it easier for you to use your computer during a headache or migraine attack. It may also reduce the number or severity of headaches or migraines during or after computer use.
Gentle Hue is currently under development, but when it is ready it you will simply download the software onto your computer.
Simply run the software, select the Gentle Hue icon, then press the button corresponding to the mode you would like to use: green mode, red mode, or focus mode. It is possible to use focus mode at the same time as either color mode. You can also open the main window of the program and make your selection there.
While the effectiveness of Gentle Hue has not yet been verified, it is based on the latest research on the effect of light and color on migraines.
Focus mode will work for anything on your display. The color modes are not recommended for watching videos, as there may be delays in color conversion that make videos hard to see. Pictures will of course be converted to red or green if you select those options, but can be viewed in shades of that color.
While there are settings on many computers such as night mode which filter out blue light, we are not aware of any other programs which change the colors on your display specifically for the purposes of migraine and headache relief.
